Version v1 current · History (1)
Serves 3
Ingredients
- 130 g rolled oats (Haferflocken)
- 350 ml milk (Milch)
- 200 ml water
- 1 apple (medium, coarsely grated with the skin on; Apfel)
- 2 g cinnamon (Zimt)
- salt
- 2 egg (Eier)
- 15 g butter (Butter)
- 15 ml honey (Honig)
- 40 g walnuts (roughly chopped, a little less on Cozy's; Walnüsse)
- 30 g pumpkin seeds (Kürbiskerne)
Steps
- Combine rolled oats (130 g), milk (300 ml), water (200 ml), apple (1), cinnamon (2 g) and a pinch of salt in a pot.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring often, then simmer ⏲ 5–6 minutes until thick and creamy.
- While it simmers, whisk egg (2) with milk (50 ml) in a small bowl until smooth.
- Take the pot off the heat. Stir a big spoonful of the hot oatmeal into the egg mixture, then pour it all back into the pot, stirring constantly. Return to low heat and cook, stirring, ⏲ 1–2 minutes, until thickened and custardy. Do not let it boil or the egg will scramble.
- Stir in butter (15 g) and honey (15 ml) until the butter melts.
- Divide among 3 bowls. Top each bowl with walnuts (40 g) and pumpkin seeds (30 g).
